The boy and the bunny

There was once a little boy whose father owned a small farm. Although it was so very small, the boy thought the farm to be the best place in the whole wide world. He made friends with the grumpy grey donkeys as they poked their noses at him through the wooden bars of their stable, and fed the horses carrots as they were saddled up for riding lessons. Though he played frequently in the stables, his absolute favourite corner of the farm was the bunny enclosure, which was run as an attraction for visiting tourists.

The bunny enclosure had a hundred bunnies of all shapes and sizes. They could afford to rear the bunnies as the daily stream of visitors would buy the feed from the farm to feed the bunnies by hand. The boy didn't have to pay, of course. He loved watching the bunnies hop about their daily affairs. He loved bunnies so much that his father decided to give him a baby bunny for his very own.

The boy was delighted. He carefully fed the bunny milk with a baby bottle until it was weaned off milk, then prepared a special mix of carrots, oats and seeds for its daily meal. He brushed its fur each day, and wiped its paws whenever it had been hopping around in the dirt. It was the best-loved bunny on the farm.

Two years passed during which the farmer's family experienced hardship after hardship. Many of the livestock died of disease, and the stream of visitors grew less and less as times were hard. The straw that broke the camel's back was when the boy's mother fell gravely ill. The doctor came to the farm almost every afternoon, and left every evening shaking his head. Bills and medicines raced each other in piling up, and out of necessity the farmer began selling the donkeys, then the horses, then the cows. Eventually, all that was left was the bunny enclosure.

With a sad heart, the farmer called his little boy to him and told him to say goodbye to all the bunnies, save one. With the exception of the boy's own special bunny, the other bunnies were to be sold off to a local diner which had rabbit stew as a lunch special.

Tearfully, the little boy stroked each of the bunnies behind the ears, and said his goodbyes. Then he hugged his own special bunny close to his heart, and whispered, "Don't be afraid, you're safe with me."

Discipleship: Just a supplement?

Discipleship. What is it? Very often do I hear Matthew 28:19 being preached during sermons about discipleship. To be exact, the verse says, “Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit” (NLT) The thing is, I’ve often wondered what it means for a Christian to be a disciple of Christ. I’ve been searching an answer to that question, and honestly, I still am.

I guess why I’m so concerned about this verse is because, how can one make disciples, if one doesn’t even know what it means to be a disciple of Christ? Perhaps the Bible answers that for us too. Luke 9:23 says, “Then he said to the crowd, ‘If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me.’” (NKJV)

So okay. I go, “Hey God, thanks for answering my question, but that still seems kinda vague to me.” I mean, I think I understand the “deny himself” part, but “taking up my cross daily”? Man. That’s still quite unhelpful there.

But as I was writing this, it just dawned upon me. What it means to be a disciple - it’s all there in that verse! To me, at least. According to that verse in Luke, there are 4 aspects in becoming a disciple of Christ.

“He must deny himself”
I don’t think Christianity is some sort of vitamin supplement to our self-directed way of living. I think the word here is deliberately choosing to follow Jesus’ way, rather than our own.
“Take up his cross”
Hah. Tricky one. Initially I thought that the word “cross” meant to be some sort of a burden, but then again, when Jesus was carrying His cross, it only meant one thing: death. So I guess taking up one’s cross means to die to yourself; a call to absolute surrender. It means being willing to die in order to follow Jesus. Maybe not die, literally, but it could mean losing the things/dreams/ relationships which you deem most important.
“Daily”
Self-explanatory isn’t it? I think it’s an important word though, to be placed in this verse. We can’t just decide one day to take up the cross and the next day to just be complacent. That’s not what Jesus called for.
“Follow me”
When I picture the word follow, I imagine myself walking along with Jesus, wherever He leads. Just trusting in Him to direct me in life, in my decisions, and in the way I live. And that gives me a very warm, fuzzy feeling. Because I know Jesus leads always in the right direction :)

So. At first glance, it seems tough being a disciple of Christ. And it seems like it’s not worth it too. But take a look at the continuing verse of Luke 9:24 - “For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it.” (NKJV; emphasis added)

I think only when we willingly take up our cross, then are we disciples of Christ. And being a disciple? I think that’s one of the greatest rewards there. The reward is worth the cost of being a disciple. The reward of receiving the gift of life in Christ.

I think that the choice to be a disciple of Jesus is not an option for Christians. It is a necessity. We either ‘die to ourselves’ and follow Him, or we seek to treat Jesus like a supplement to our lives and risk deceiving ourselves about our religiousness and lose ourselves and whatnot.

So, I guess the question is, “What path are you on? Are you willing to follow Him? Which will you choose?”

The sky darkened as the archers filled the air with their missiles.

One by one warriors fell as volley after volley of the missiles splattered over them. Even being the quickest of warriors will only allow you to last longer in this sure-death battlefield. Soon enough, remains were littered all over the floor and a loud cry could be heard in the air.

Half an hour earlier...

"Normals! What is your profession!?"

"OORAH!"

Warriors, who have accepted and willingly embraced death, stood together, shoulder-to-shoulder, ready to fight for what they believed in. Warriors, who had fearless eyes and hands that gripped onto their weapons as hard as steel. As one, we rushed out onto the battlefield, with battle cries and howls filling the air.

Most don't understand the extent of a proper full-out battle. As you rush into the battle on the front lines, logic ceases to exist. The confusion sets in and you get lost in the whole chaos of it all. At that point in time, your survival instincts kick in. Your weapon and you become a whole, an arc of pure destruction, striking one foe after another as they struggle to avoid the blows beneath their knees.

Present

Inevitably, the length of a sword cannot compare with multiple bombardments from enemy archers. Filthy, cowardly foes. One by one we fell with honour. We never turned back. We never retreated. With our heads held high, the enemy got us.

We were in desperate need of a leader, a king. To stand against the hordes of the enemy and to bravely proclaim "YOU ALL IS DIE!". And indeed, one rose up the ranks, against all odds, and single-handedly defeated the enemy with his two mere sticks of a sword, and hope was restored once again.

As the sun set lower and lower over the horizon, no obvious victor could still be determined. With the final battle looming, things were still down the wire.

Finally, this was it. The final battle. We geared up for this battle of battles; a battle of wits as much as a battle of brawns. Our swords clashed one final time as we yelled our battle cries one last time. One by one our enemy fell, though not without a price. With each one we took, we lost one of our own. The battle was going to be tight. Killing their king, we struck a major advantage, and slowly worked our way to taking the rest of the warriors one by one.

However, sneakily the enemy had found a devious plan to outsmart us all, and eventually, beat us to the chase. The war had been won, and a brave new world was born.

All of us sat down on the grass, dazed at how the battle was lost so easily yet so brilliantly. As a shout snapped us from our reverie, we huddled together, facing the photographer, yelling incoherently as the camera went *click*.

After we doused both game masters with pails of ice cold water that we were forced to bear throughout the battle, we packed up, changed and walked off to our various car parks, thoughts occupied at the dinner that awaited us, eager to fill our now-growling stomachs. Each and everyone of us discussing and laughing non-stop about the battle that had just transpired.

And that was our Rawr Games this semester. :)

This is excellent and really gets you thinking about what will happen in Heaven.

17-year-old Brian Moore had only a short time to write something for a class. The subject was what Heaven was like.. "I wowed 'em," he later told his father, Bruce. It's a killer. It's the bomb. It's the best thing I ever wrote." It also was the last.

Brian's parents had forgotten about the essay when a cousin found it while cleaning out the teenager's locker at Teays Valley High School in Pickaway County

Brian had been dead only hours, but his parents desperately wanted every piece of his life near them, notes from classmates and teachers, and his homework. Only two months before, he had handwritten the essay about encountering Jesus in a file room full of cards detailing every moment of the teen's life. But it was only after Brian's death that Beth and Bruce Moore realized that their son had described his view of heaven.

It makes such an impact that people want to share it. "You feel like you are there," Mr. Moore said. Brian Moore died May 27, 1997, the day after Memorial Day. He was driving home from a friend's house when his car went off Bulen-Pierce Road in Pickaway County and struck a utility pole. He emerged from the wreck unharmed but stepped on a downed power line and was electrocuted.

The Moore 's framed a copy of Brian's essay and hung it among the family portraits in the living room. "I think God used him to make a point. I think we were meant to find it and make something out of it," Mrs. Moore said of the essay. She and her husband want to share their son's vision of life after death. "I'm happy for Brian.. I know he's in heaven. I know I'll see him.

In that place between wakefulness and dreams, I found myself in the room. There were no distinguishing features except for the one wall covered with small index card files. They were like the ones in libraries that list titles by author or subject in alphabetical order. But these files, which stretched from floor to ceiling and seemingly endless in either direction, had very different headings.

As I drew near the wall of files, the first to catch my attention was one that read "Girls I have liked." I opened it and began flipping through the cards.. I quickly shut it, shocked to realize that I recognized the names written on each one. And then without being told, I knew exactly where I was. This lifeless room with its small files was a crude catalog system for my life. Here were written the actions of my every moment, big and small, in a detail my memory couldn't match.. A sense of wonder and curiosity, coupled with horror, stirred within me as I began randomly opening files and exploring their content. Some brought joy and sweet memories; others a sense of shame and regret so intense that I would look over my shoulder to see if anyone was watching.

A file named "Friends" was next to one marked "Friends I have betrayed." The titles ranged from the mundane to the outright weird. "Books I Have Read," "Lies I Have Told," "Comfort I have Given," "Jokes I Have Laughed at."

Some were almost hilarious in their exactness: "Things I've yelled at my brothers." Others I couldn't laugh at: "Things I Have Done in My Anger", "Things I Have Muttered Under My Breath at My Parents." I never ceased to be surprised by the contents Often there were many more cards than expected. Sometimes fewer than I hoped. I was overwhelmed by the sheer volume of the life I had lived....

Could it be possible that I had the time in my years to fill each of these thousands or even millions of cards? But each card confirmed this truth. Each was written in my own handwriting.. Each signed with my signature.

When I pulled out the file marked "TV Shows I have watched," I realized the files grew to contain their contents. The cards were packed tightly, and yet after two or three yards, I hadn't found the end of the file. I shut it, shamed, not so much by the quality of shows but more by the vast time I knew that file represented.

When I came to a file marked "Lustful Thoughts," I felt a chill run through my body. I pulled the file out only an inch, not willing to test its size, and drew out a card. I shuddered at its detailed content. I felt sick to think that such a moment had been recorded. An almost animal rage broke on me.

One thought dominated my mind: No one must ever see these cards! No one must ever see this room! I have to destroy them!" In insane frenzy I yanked the file out. Its size didn't matter now. I had to empty it and burn the cards. But as I took it at one end and began pounding it on the floor, I could not dislodge a single card. I became desperate and pulled out a card, only to find it as strong as steel when I tried to tear it. Defeated and utterly helpless, I returned the file to its slot. Leaning my forehead against the wall, I let out a long, self-pitying sigh.

And then I saw it. The title bore "People I Have Shared the Gospel With." The handle was brighter than those around it, newer, almost unused. I pulled on its handle and a small box not more than three inches long fell into my hands. I could count the cards it contained on one hand.

And then the tears came.. I began to weep.. Sobs so deep that they hurt. They started in my stomach and shook through me. I fell on my knees and cried. I cried out of shame, from the overwhelming shame of it all. The rows of file shelves swirled in my tear-filled eyes. No one must ever, ever know of this room. I must lock it up and hide the key. But then as I pushed away the tears, I saw Him.

No, please not Him... Not here. Oh, anyone but Jesus. I watched helplessly as He began to open the files and read the cards. I couldn't bear to watch His response.. And in the moments I could bring myself to look at His face, I saw a sorrow deeper than my own. He seemed to intuitively go to the worst boxes.

Why did He have to read every one? Finally He turned and looked at me from across the room. He looked at me with pity in His eyes. But this was a pity that didn't anger me. I dropped my head, covered my face with my hands and began to cry again. He walked over and put His arm around me. He could have said so many things. But He didn't say a word. He just cried with me.

Then He got up and walked back to the wall of files. Starting at one end of the room, He took out a file and, one by one, began to sign His name over mine on each card. "No!" I shouted rushing to Him. All I could find to say was "No, no," as I pulled the card from Him. His name shouldn't be on these cards. But there it was, written in red so rich, so dark, and so alive.

The name of Jesus covered mine. It was written with His blood. He gently took the card back He smiled a sad smile and began to sign the cards. I don't think I'll ever understand how He did it so quickly, but the next instant it seemed I heard Him close the last file and walk back to my side. He placed His hand on my shoulder and said, "It is finished."

I stood up, and He led me out of the room. There was no lock on its door. There were still cards to be written.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16

If you feel the same way forward this article to as many people as you can so the love of Jesus will touch their lives also. My "People I shared the gospel with" file just got bigger, how about yours?

You don't have to share this with anybody, no one will know whether you did or not, but you will know and so will He.

Week 4: UOE2 - What's wrong with the World, Mama?

Before and above everything I just wanted to say thank you and that I appreciate very much for this opportunity that has been given to me, This boy is the representation of my passion and why I want to be a Famine Youth Leader.

I have always loved people, but about 4 years ago, I watched a video by Gary Haugen, president of the International Justice Mission. He was instrumental to shaping my passion and helping me put a name to it. He pointed out a verse, Isaiah 1:17 which says, Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the orphan. Fight for the right of widows. In the video he talked about how God being the source of all justice, compassion, power, truth and goodness is most offended by the abuse of it. It moved me, changed the way I viewed the world and I knew then that I wanted to use my life to serve people.

I would spend my life championing the rights of those oppressed and bringing relief to those who are in pain. However being Chinese and the eldest in the family with two very young brothers’ filial piety is probably one of the strongest values instilled. For now, with the consent of my parents I have publicly pledged a year of my life, upon my graduation in 2011, to doing just that. I know that my heart is with His people, but I am still exploring the different channels in which I can serve. Amongst the many, what I feel for the most is injustice and poverty.

Injustice applies to any act that involves unfairness to another or the violation of one's rights. Perhaps my view on what is right or wrong is more rigid, or perhaps I know Him whom I serve never intended such outright abuse on His people. This is why I desire to bring change, to make right where evil has caused injustice.

Poverty is the other area that I feel as strongly about. When I think about poverty, I understand it first and foremost as a severe need or a lack. When I read or witness the pain of those in poverty, I am indefinitely moved to do something to change it, but I being one can only provide or bring that much food or any sort of material things. So bigger than that is the realization that what these people need the most is not of the physical; instead it is hope that sustains them through their bleakest moment, and the light in which they can cling onto. Practically, I need to provide the physical to improve and better the lives of those in poverty. However that brings only temporary relief, lasting only as long as the material does, instead hope in a purpose and bigger truth is inexhaustible and changes their life eternally.

The picture as mentioned represents my heart and all that which I stand for. I keep this picture in my Bible. It serves as a reminder to me, that in everything I do, it should be fueled by my love for Him and His people. His face is the representation of the many that I wish to serve because in doing so, I would have been serving also their Maker.

Where the Mind Goes, the Man Follows

Jesus said in Luke 6:45, ...out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. And in Proverbs 23:7 the Bible says, ...as he thinks in his heart, so is he... Here, the word heart refers to the mind. In other words, whatever you and I allow into our inner life will eventually be seen in our outer life. So in order to deal with wrong behavior, we need to deal with wrong thinking. The key to victory is learning how to think on the things that God wants us to think- to be renewed in our mind by the power of His Word- instead of thinking on whatever comes into our head.

A House Made of Thoughts
All of us have an outer life and an inner life. Our outer life is the part of us that everybody sees, and our inner life, is seen by nobody, except God and us. Our inner life is like a house made of thoughts that is constantly being built. It is within these "walls" of our thinking that each of us lives. Every thought we accept is like another brick in the wall of the house we are building. If we accept negative, selfish, or other ungodly thoughts, our "house" will be a mess, and we will find ourselves walled in with the enemy. But when we choose to think positive, godly thoughts, the "house" in which we live will be a blessing, filled with the rewards of righteousness.

Exposing the Enemy
Once we make the decision to change our thinking, we enter into an all-out war with the enemy, and the battlefield is our mind. Satan knows that if he can dominate our thinking, he can dominate our life. That is why he often attacks us early in the morning, before our feet ever hit the floor. He strategically bombards our mind with every negative and ungodly thought imaginable- all in an effort to set the stage for a day of misery and sorrow. Two of Satan's greatest devices he uses against us are worry and reasoning.

Wielding the Sword
One of the greatest weapons that you and I have is the truth of God's Word. If we don't lead wrong thoughts away captive, the wrong thoughts will lead us away captive. When Jesus faces the temptations of Satan in the desert, He spoke the Word and defeated the enemy (see Luke 4:1-13). God wants us to know, believe and exalt His Word above the ideas of the enemy and my flesh. Jesus clearly stated in Matthew 6:25-34 that we are not to worry about anything because God is faithful to provide all that we need, when we need it. The more we meditate on scriptures like these, the more our thinking changes.

Maintaining Mental Freedom
Once we learn how to get free, we then need to learn how to stay free. It's not enough to just cast down the wrong thoughts; we have to choose to think the right thoughts. We need to fix our mind on...whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious...(Philippians 4:8) If you and I do not choose thoughts that lead to life, the devil will choose thoughts for us that lead to death. But when we choose thoughts that lead to life, our lives will be blessed.

Yo, yo yo... Its the time of the year where exams are around and people in the "aquarium" get stressed up. So, what do the CF do? We organise unofficial CF meeting, that starts at 5.30pm on Wednesdays, but these CF meeting is just short enough take your stress away. So, people, gather around, and praise the Lord.

Because then very soon it's time to get back on our feet and march back into lecture theaters and tutorial rooms for more classes and assignment rushing ho-hums!

Ah but there's good news to this! CF meetings will resume to its usual pace again (insert 'yays' here) in room 6303 on Wednesday evenings at 5.30pm. This time around we'll be talking about Gender Roles, and perhaps along the way learn what it takes and what it means to be a real man and a real lady, yeah?

Why Us?

I love checking up on the sky every now and then. No matter what time of the day it is, the sky looks beautiful.If you go to a rural area where there’s no light polution, the stars in the sky would blow you away with their awesomeness. Even in the city where haze will cloud your vision, the setting sun still manages to paint the horizon with glowing tints of pink and gold.

Sometimes I think that man must be the ugliest part of creation. You’ve got the cascading waterfalls, the clear pebbled streams, the rainbow-coloured fish and the graceful big cats and magnificent elephants. Look at the tiniest chick and the amazing blue whale. Even the insects are perfect in every detail, with their own array of colours.

Then look at us. We’ve got skin that only varies in shade, and two spindly legs and arms. Really. Take a good look at us. What’s up with that? Put a monkey on a rock by a waterfall in the middle of a lush, green jungle, and you’ve got a great picture. Put a human there, and somehow it just doesn’t work as well.Like the human’s out of place.

Psalm 8

³ When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,

which you have set in place,

⁴ what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?

Why us?

Why does God love us above all other creation? Why has He adopted us?

I can’t fully comprehend this; and the following verse only gives me a hint at why we’ve been put in charge of nature:

Genesis 1

²⁶ Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

²⁷So God created man in his own image,
in the image of God he created him;
male and female he created them.

We’re special because we’ve been made in God’s image. I think that a part of what that means is we’ve been given spirits and souls, as well as the physical body. We’ve been set above nature (and angels,even!) because we can have a relationship with God - we can love Him with souls, spirits, hearts.

This status of ours is not because of anything special we can do; I think it’s because we can reflect God’s glory in a way that nothing else in nature can.

While the beauty of nature glorifies God because it displays His creativity and power, we glorify God because we display His grace, His mercy, and His love. We are the only creatures who can glorify God by reflecting His personality - all of His goodness and holiness. Because we were made to be in His image.

We are at our best when we follow Jesus, who was all man was made to be and more, and what Adam failed to do.

Week 6: Joy Of Salvation

"What Shall I Say? 'Father, save me from this hour?'" by Jenna Loo

It was Palm Sunday last week (really, I checked and double-checked), and the speaker delivered good sermon on the triumphal entry, which is when Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. There were many good points in that sermon, but the one point that spoke to me was Jesus' words,

"Now my heart is troubled, and what shall I say? 'Father, save me from this hour?' No, it was for this very reason I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name!" (John 12:27-28)

At that point, Jesus was at the height of his popularity. All the Jews were rejoicing at his entry into Jerusalem, waving palm branches and shouting "Hosanna!" (save us, please). Everything seemed to be going well, but Jesus knew, and we know, that in just seven days the same crowd would be shouting "Crucify Him!".

Jesus would be betrayed by one of his closest friends, denied by his most ardent disciple, killed by some of the very people he probably healed. He would undergo excruciating pain - be punished when He was innocent, suffer the greatest injustice.

No wonder His heart was troubled.

This passage shook me - because look at what a 'cross' Jesus took up! It showed perfectly just what it means to live a life for God's glory. When we say, "Lord, we want to live for your glory," I think we sometimes don't know what we are saying. Are any of us capable of sacrificing so much? Are we willing to lose a friend, be betrayed, insulted, get hurt, lose our lives?

"If anyone comes to me and does not hate his father and mother, his wife and children, his brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be my disciple. And anyone who does not carry his cross and follow me cannot be my disciple. (Luke 14:26-27)

Jesus tells us to count the cost. He did, and he said, "Father, glorify your name!"

God, you are really incredible.

I was truly amazed at the sight of sooooo many new comers in CF yesterday. For one, I could not get the poster to be approved in time because of the tightening of rules and regulations for religious societies. But God is good!!!

As you all know, we will be having a booth for CNS week this coming Tuesday to Friday. We still need as much help as possible; put up decorations, pretty-fy the place, give out fliers, talk to people. Do help Su Yin out. I got lucky today and got into talking with one of our predecessors over lunch. He was one of the crazy ones who really believed in the power of God reigning and taking control over the campus and was not hesitant to do anything for Him at all. He shared with me part of what God has done in his previous marketplace; his school in Taman Sea and listening to that was really empowering. Over 400 people were in one organisation called the Christian Union in a government school and each time there is a camp, it takes 7 buses to fit everyone. Is that amazing or what?

What the people (who established this by sowing the seeds of a miracle) did were not just sitting around and be comfortable at their own places. They were living it; living the life fulfilling the simple commands of God. Fervently indulging themselves in prayer, not just individually but collectively. But most of all.......they believed. They believed the sovereignty of God over His kingdom, over the place, which most the time we have understood but yet not fully grasping it in our minds and hearts and do something about it.

They were not afraid or complacent.

Have we, as children of God, done anything outside of the four walls of church to expand His kingdom? Or have we just circled around the vicinity of church, serving God only in church and our very own brothers and sisters in Christ who have already been made known and accepted the salvation in which God has given? Most people I know have dropped out from the faith because of this one term I never really presume exist; 'burnt out' and from what I found out is that, they have barely started God's real work, which is in the world. Church has been a place of great burden for some and as the organisation grows, people are beginning to place more and more things on their plates till they reach the point of 'burning out'.

The campus is a place which is in dire need of Christ. People take their own lives, going home carrying the sack of depression on their backs, experience emotional turmoil because of not having the privilege of understanding and knowing the true meaning of life. We have been too comfortably seated in our respective positions.

What my dear friend had was a sense of ownership. The people knew deep down that, in the name of Christ, each one of them owned the CF and each one of them owned the school, and each one of them owned the campus.

He told me this, "To be honest, what happened in that school was not at all within the realm of human ability. 400 people cram every single week in a limited space, bearing the afternoon heat and yet....people still come. And they keep coming. They were still worshipping. They were still standing up to their feet and hands were still lifted in full heart of worship. God is really beyond comprehension."

We always utter the cliched words of 'we are here not by chance'. How many of us actually truly dig down and make the mere few words into a story-to-tell...Our time in campus is short, my friends, and this is no great revelation or prophesy. It is something we all understood...but on the surface.

I urge you to start His work right here, right now. May we be able to speak the truth in love to those who have yet to come to know Him. May His name be able to be lifted high in this place.

Let us begin with prayer. Praying together is a very powerful tool. We need to play our part and He will do His. Come to the place where we will be meeting everyday starting this semester to begin praying for this campus and the people.

We have been idle long enough.

May I ask that you come to CF each week with an expectant heart and not by habit or obligation. Otherwise, I'd rather you not force yourself. Cause the number never really matter in the first place. Said in the scripture: even if there is only 3 or 2, God is with us. Come each week with your hearts prepared for worship so that you may not sing songs (which most songs contains words of promise, scary) you do not mean. Otherwise, I'd rather you not force yourself. Come each week with the heart of repentence and love that you do not harbour feelings, be it hatred or jealousy towards another and that you are able to have genuine fellowship with everyone. Otherwise, I'd rather you not force yourself.

This year's theme is Love: Free But Not Debt Free. It is taken from chapter 13 of the book of Romans, one of the hardest book to swallow. Paul says,

"Owe nothing to anyone except to love another; for he who loves his neighbour has fulfilled the law"

Love: Free But Not Debt Free

I’m guessing you read that about a minimum of 5 to 6 times before reading this part where I guessed you read it a minimum of 5 to 6 times.

THIS is most likely what you think love is.

There is more than meets the eye my friend.

Well, the whole theme can’t exactly be summed up with a 500-word post (or 500 posts for that matter), so I’m just gonna let God do the talking. All you have to do is come for our ‘gathering’ (I prefer that than the word ‘meeting’. Too official and predictable) with an open heart and mind and that one single lined sentence might just make perfect sense to you.

Oh by the way, it doesn’t matter if you’re not a believer (….yet. Huahuahauhauhauhauaha! Kidding.....no not really. BOO!). No werwies. We are vewy fun peepo (meaning to say people).

19 of January mark the birth of this Monash CF log. *Woopeteedoo!*

I can’t say much on how this log will work out to be but at the top of my head, it’ll be beautifully painted with the lives of the people in this CF (….or perhaps filled with information on CF’s weekly meeting).

But anyhoo, here is a place where you can contribute thoughts (Godly, that is), scribble, doodle, minglynoodle!
